Exterior siding and custom cladding cover a broad range of materials and architectural systems used to protect the building while defining its finished appearance.

A project does not need to use one material across the entire building. Many modern exteriors combine several systems—for example fibre-cement lap siding with architectural metal, stone, wood-look cladding or custom panel features.

Custom cladding becomes especially valuable around entrances, upper floors, garages, columns, soffits, feature walls and other areas where the exterior design calls for stronger architectural contrast.

Material selection should consider more than appearance. Wall exposure, fire requirements, maintenance expectations, moisture management, durability, colour, profile, substrate and surrounding building-envelope conditions can all influence which cladding system is appropriate.
