NewTechWood Composite Siding & Architectural Cladding

NewTechWood is a premium composite siding and architectural cladding system used for modern exterior walls, feature elevations, soffits and covered exterior ceilings. Its UltraShield system combines a wood-plastic composite core with a protective polymer cap designed to provide the appearance of wood with substantially less routine finishing and maintenance than natural wood cladding.

NewTechWood Siding Profiles

NewTechWood offers several exterior cladding configurations rather than one single siding profile. Its All-Weather tongue-and-groove siding can be installed horizontally or vertically. The European-style collection includes narrower architectural profiles such as the Norwegian board, which uses multiple raised sections to create a more linear, contemporary appearance. NewTechWood also offers Shadowline cladding for deeper architectural lines and a more pronounced slatted appearance.

This range gives designers and homeowners flexibility to use NewTechWood across full elevations or as accent material around entrances, upper-storey features, garages, posts, soffits and other architectural areas.

Colours and Wood-Look Finishes

Current NewTechWood siding collections include a broad selection of wood-look and contemporary finishes. Manufacturer-listed options include tones such as Peruvian Teak, Brazilian Ipe, Spanish Walnut, Japanese Cedar, Shou Sugi Ban, Argentinian Silver Gray, Indian Ebony and lighter contemporary finishes, with availability varying by profile. Custom colours may also be available through NewTechWood.

Ventilated Cladding and Installation

NewTechWood siding is installed over a supporting structure rather than directly against the wall surface. Its proprietary cladding clips hold the boards away from the support system, creating space for air circulation while also allowing the composite boards to expand and contract as temperatures change. Manufacturer installation information also identifies ventilation, correct spacing and movement allowances as important parts of the system.

For exterior projects in the Okanagan, Diamond Exteriors coordinates the NewTechWood cladding with the wall assembly, rainscreen strategy, flashings, trims and surrounding exterior materials so the finished siding is treated as part of the complete exterior system rather than simply as a decorative surface.

Durability and Maintenance

UltraShield composite cladding is designed to resist common exterior-surface concerns including staining, fading, mold and mildew, while eliminating the regular sanding, staining or oiling associated with many natural wood finishes. NewTechWood states that its composite material uses recycled wood fibres and plastics and is protected on all sides by its UltraShield cap.

Routine cleaning is still appropriate, but the system is intended for owners who want a wood-inspired exterior appearance without the recurring refinishing schedule of traditional exposed wood siding.

NewTechWood Warranty

NewTechWood currently states a 25-year limited transferable warranty for residential UltraShield products. Its commercial information lists different warranty terms, so warranty coverage should always be confirmed against the current manufacturer documentation for the specific product and project type before construction.
