Corrugated Metal Siding

Corrugated metal siding uses formed steel or aluminum panels with repeated ribs or waves to create a durable exterior finish with strong vertical or horizontal shadow lines.

Although historically associated with agricultural and industrial buildings, corrugated metal is increasingly used on custom homes, modern renovations, multi-family buildings and commercial exteriors. It can cover complete elevations or be used selectively beside fibre-cement siding, stucco, masonry and other architectural materials.

Corrugated profiles are available in different rib depths, panel widths, gauges and prefinished metal colours. Depending on the manufacturer and profile, panels may be installed vertically or horizontally.

The finished result depends heavily on accurate panel layout and properly coordinated trims. Outside corners, inside corners, base flashings, window transitions and roofline details should be planned alongside the wall assembly rather than treated as separate finishing pieces.

Prefinished steel systems can offer long service life with limited routine maintenance, but coating type, warranty coverage, fastener system and substrate requirements vary by manufacturer. The specific panel system should therefore be selected and detailed for the individual project.
