Henry Blueskin building-envelope products are used to create high-performance air and water management layers behind exterior siding and cladding. Blueskin systems are designed for applications where controlling rain penetration, air leakage and moisture movement through the exterior wall assembly is an important part of the project.

Depending on the wall assembly and project requirements, Henry Blueskin products can be incorporated behind fibre-cement siding, metal cladding, panel systems, wood-look products, masonry transitions and other exterior finishes.

Blueskin VP100 is a self-adhered, vapor-permeable water-resistive air barrier designed to adhere directly to compatible wall substrates. Because the membrane is fully adhered rather than simply hanging over the wall like a loose sheet, it can form a continuous layer across properly prepared exterior sheathing when installed as part of a complete approved assembly.

The membrane itself is only one part of effective building-envelope construction. Windows, doors, penetrations, corners, wall transitions, flashings, tapes, sealants, rainscreen components and cladding attachment all need to work together. Diamond Exteriors focuses on these transitions when completing exterior renovations and siding replacement projects because water-management problems commonly occur at interfaces rather than across the centre of an uninterrupted wall.

For existing homes and buildings, removal of the old siding can expose conditions that were previously hidden. This creates an opportunity to review the sheathing, weather-resistive barrier, flashings and penetrations before the new exterior is installed. Where appropriate for the specified assembly, a Blueskin system can be incorporated into the exterior-envelope upgrade.
